Review One
Kohei Orihara is a phantom. He is unrecognized by most people walks around as though he does not exist. However this is not apparent throughout most of the story. The story is told through the eyes of the various girls that Kohei has known throughout his life. There is also the mysterious and sad past that Kohei has. The real question is what is the mystery behind Kohei and what will happen to him if everyone forgets his about existance?
One is a four part Oav based off of a dating sim. This lead perhaps the greatest problem with the Oav, the plot is almost impossible to understand if one has not played the game. Other than that the show is fairly interesting as the viewer watches and tries to get to the bottom of the mystery behind Kohei. Like most dating sim anime One has a large cast of female characters that have to share time for character development. The air of mystery that surrounds the show makes this a smaller problem than it would normally be.
The animation for One is well done. The work done for the character animation and backgrounds is noticeable being the quality expected for an Oav.
Currently One is only available through fansub and it looks like it will stay that way for a while. Even though One starts out very slow in the beginning it gradually picks up to make an interesting finale. This isn’t a great Oav especially since most people will not be familiar with the source material (the video game). Even tough it is still an enjoyable Oav to watch. I give One a rating of fair/ good.
